The introduction to the game is a little fantasy, maybe too much story for this game. It goes as follow: The firm of Stephenson, Gibson & Sterling has charged you with piloting a splendid airship. On arrival in China, you are greeted by your hushed associate, Mr. Lynch: “Enigmatic constructs have recently appeared in clusters around the world. They can be broken apart by balls of a compound called Israelium which bounces in perpetuity. Your ship is specially designed to direct these with its broad, curving sail.”
Incredible game is a very entertaining game with a lot of action and in which you have to stay alert at all times, which can be pretty hard when there are multiple balls bouncing all over the place. Is not that different to several other games alike, but this one has a plus with the possibility of downloading extra material from the web. We could think of Incrediball as one of the several descendants of the legendary Arkanoid, and the basics of this game are the same as those of Arkanoid. Only in this game there’s the story commented at the beginning which gives a context and a sense to the game. While it’s a demanding game regarding to attention and reflex, it’s pretty easy to play with no complicated rules. To prove that the game only offers a single page help to prepare you to play. The game basically consists in keeping a ball – or several of them – bouncing as long as you can so the ball can destroy an arrangement of bricks and stuff. To do that you have a ship sort of thing on which the ball bounce when it comes down to the bottom of the screen. You can control your ship by moving your mouse sideways. Each time the ball hits a brick, the brick is destroyed and you score points. When you destroy all the bricks composing the scenario of the level you pass the level. Some bricks or other objects in the scenario provide upgrades so you can destroy the scenario faster.
Some of the upgrades are the following:
- Projectile Box: contains projectiles that you can catch, and then deploy as weapons against the construct. There are many types of projectiles. Some allow you to manipulate the elements, while others are technological marvels--all are potent tools for destruction.
- Inflators: When a ball passes beneath this balloon, it is transformed into a Big Ball. Big Balls have vast destructive power.
- Accelerator: A spinning plate on the floor which accelerates balls.
- Splitters: These spinning saws will catch your ball and shred it.
When you enter the game, you’ll see the welcome screen with the following options:
- Choose player: the first time there’s no existing player. After you create one or more, they’ll be saved. When you enter into this submenu, you’ll be asked for a name as a new player. It’s possible to have a list of different players and record their performance. This way, you can play home tournaments with family and friends.
